Empathic Intuition: A Guide to Trusting Your Inner Voice
Four Practical Tools to Clear the Noise and Reconnect with Your True Self
In the past, I was the queen of “getting stuck”. Analysis paralysis was my middle name.
I’d been trained to be highly analytical as a credit analyst, and only logical decisions were accepted in the corporate world. (”Feeling” and “tuning in” to make a decision would have been highly unacceptable.)
So I had to work my way out of that trap. I needed to free myself from the web of spinning around in my head, and allow myself to tap into my inner knowing and intuitive power as an empath.
After all, I’m a lifelong animal lover and sensitive. My “built-in” healer abilities were there, but they needed to come out and shine their light. And in order to do that, I had to learn how to get back to the inner knowing that I was born with.
Because the truth is: All empaths have the ability to be intuitive, and indeed everyone does; but we are especially sensitive to others. And because we’re sensitive to others feelings, we can get caught up in their reality instead of our own. And then it can be difficult to trust what we’re getting because we’re not sure if it’s true for us or not.
But there are tools you can use to tap into your own intuition for clarity and truth. So, I’d like to share four tools to help guide you in life and exercise your intuitive “muscle”. (You can try them all, and choose the ones that resonate with you best.)
Pendulum. This is often a pointed crystal of various types that’s attached to a short chain. The way I’ve used it is to write a question on a piece of paper (or list different options on the paper), and dangle the pendulum over the top of the words. The key is to be still, and allow the energy to do the job. If the pendulum circles to the right it’s a “yes”, and if it circles left it’s a “no”. This helps to teach you to be still and allow the answer to come to you.
Oracle Cards. I love using oracle cards to ignite intuitive insight. When you shuffle the cards, you can spread the deck open in your hands (back side up) and intuitively choose the card that stands out to you. Then take it out of the deck, flip it over and see what the illustration/message is. If you’re a beginner, you can look up the meaning in the guidebook. Or, tap into your intuition even deeper and ask yourself: “What is this trying to tell me?”
Muscle Testing. I love this tool also because you can do it with just your fingers. If you’re right handed, touch your left thumb and index finger together like the “okay” sign. Then do the same on the right hand, but put it through the circle you made with the fingers on your left hand to make a “chain”. Then ask the question and pull your right right hand away. If the “chain link” you made with your fingers stays together, then it’s a “yes”. If your fingers come apart, then it’s a “no”. (You can also do it by standing and putting your arm straight out to the side and having someone push down on your arm when you ask the question. If your arm feels weak and drops down, it’s a “no”.) This helps you to listen to your heart and not your head.
Guided Meditation. This one instantly stops the analysis paralysis by guiding you to relax and go deep. (Trying to meditate on our own can be difficult, so listening to someone’s guidance helps.) There are recordings online that guide you to go within yourself (including my YouTube channel), and they can focus on specific issues. When I work with clients and through my online courses, I customize the guided meditations for the goal they want. And when I take my clients deep into their memory and imagination, the answers come to them much faster than when they try to do it on their own. This saves time because it’s fast. It’s also relaxing and results in healing, clarity and peace of mind. (It’s also great for building your intuitive muscle and confidence for animal communication.)
Try these tools and re-discover yourself. Learn to use that amazing divine guidance you have, so you can get unstuck and on track in life. When you learn to flex that intuitive muscle, you receive the inner guidance that helps you get clear on your purpose.
Before you know it, you’ll get the clarity you need to take the path that’s right for you. You’ll also be able to tap into the healing tools you already have so you can help others; including animals or people.
There’s so much power that’s available to you and when you re-discover it with trust in your ability. Start with confidence. Look in the mirror and tell yourself you’ve got this, and then practice. Because then you’ll be able to change the world for the better.
